The Fourth Annual Broadway Concert: The British Invasion!
Soprano Camilla Gehring and baritone David Anderson, accompanied by pianist Bogdan Minut, will present their fourth annual concert of Broadway favorites and rediscoveries on Saturday, September 19th at 7 p.m. at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church. This year’s theme is “The British Invasion!”, a celebration of musicals that opened in London and later dazzled American audiences. The expression dates to the Beatles’ famous appearance on “The Ed Sullivan Show” in February 1964.
Camilla and David will perform songs and duets from familiar shows like “Les Mis”, “The Phantom of the Opera”, and “Jesus Christ Superstar”. Camilla’s sets will include favorites from “Mamma Mia!”, “Evita”, and “Miss Saigon”. David’s sets will include songs from “Oliver!”, “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat”, and “Sunset Boulevard”. They will also sing several duets.
Admission is free, freewill donations are welcome.
